The Sub Saharan-Africa music industry is one of the fastest growing and most dynamic in the world, with several potentials for success as a music stakeholder. The market has the benefits of a music-hungry population, dispersed talented musicians and a youthful vibrant consumer-base.

However, prevalent issues in the industry include how to fully establish a stable music industry; which is free from piracy, how to fully develop and address copyright issues, ways to establish formidable distribution networks utilizing digital music technology and how to develop and sustain music brands with the aid of digital marketing.

My session will specifically address current practices and discuss the way forward for artists and brands in the industry.
